How to be caucazian and still look good cosplaying

Sadly most of us know that when one who is not asian attempts to cosplay the whole concept usually goes straight down the shitter. Anyways for a little background, Ai-Kon is an anime convention that is held in Winnipeg, Manitoba where nerds like us go to dress up for the weekend and take amazing pictures of other nerds in costumes. keke. So basically we will be cosplaying as a simple deathnote cosplay I = Macey will be L and Kristin will be Matt and there will be a few other choice friends who will be joining our little shindig. keke. And then for the acutally costume competition me and Kristin will be cosplaying as the Will of the Abyss from Pandora Hearts. I will be the white side and Kristin will be the dark half of the abyss. keke. Hopefully we will win the costume prize. Only 13 more days till the convention so stay tuned for some nerdtastic pics.
